Launch’s studio essentials: Tips from our creatives that help them through the working day

Creatives that are well rested, fuelled and relaxed will in turn perform and create their best work, this is something we believe in at Launch. And let’s be honest, the working day always comes with its own challenges, however, having a well executed routine definitely helps. Here at Launch, we asked our creatives for some of their top tips that help them throughout the working day.

Ben

Meditation is always important for me when the workload gets heavy. It's really easy to get in your own head and doubt yourself or stress so taking a few minutes to take a deep breath and think systemically/logically about what you're doing can really help you take control of high pressure situations and meet those deadlines!

Emily

I always start each day by writing a list – It helps me keep on top of things and makes even the busiest of  days feel more manageable. If it's a particularly long list and starts to feel overwhelming, I prioritise my top 3 things I must get done that day, then anything else I get done is a bonus!

Top tip: add an everyday task to your list like 'have a shower' or 'make the bed' – it is cheating a bit but it gives you a sense of accomplishment straight away!

Fuelling yourself for the day is a must, water and decent food is one of your best allies for the working day ahead. Being hydrated and ‘carbed-up’ ensures your body has the necessary nutrients to perform, and in my case help with my creative output. I do love my almond croissants from Pret and a good ol’ flat white. I also feel you can’t go wrong with a stand out playlist to set the vibes right and get the team and I going.

Lucie

Writing a list helps me feel in control of the day! Aside from the list, I would say getting ‘ready’ for the day. Even when working from home, getting up, showered and getting dressed (not in trackies/leggings!) makes me feel like I’m set up and starting from the right point. Also, having a coffee!

Louise

I always make a to do list of things to get done for the day and staying hydrated is really important to me so I set myself a challenge of drinking a whole bottle of water in the car on the way to work to ensure I start the working morning hydrated and ready and then I need my morning coffee for that extra boost!

Evie

If working from home I think it’s really important to make sure my workspace is tidy and set up ready for the day. When I take a break, I find it helps to either go for a walk, or at least find a change of scenery away from where I work during the day. Furthermore, staying hydrated! I always make an effort to drink plenty of water throughout the day, especially in the Summer, but I do treat myself to a coffee mid morning as well

Do you have any tips that help you and your team? We’d love to hear and know what you think!
