5 reasons why we love Squarespace

Squarespace may not dominate the market like WordPress does, but what it lacks in hype, it makes up for in smart design! Its intuitive interface streamlines workflow and helps us build with clarity and consistency.

1. SEO

We have client sites on Squarespace that are – quite simply – outperforming WordPress and equivalents. The added bonus of the SEOspace plug-in allows the team to constantly iterate and maximise visibility in search engine results, increasing organic traffic.

2. Security

WordPress is an open-source platform. This means its core is its source code, this is freely available for anyone to view, copy, modify and distribute! This creates volatility on the platform, opening it up to security breaches and issues/bugs/conflict with these sources, ultimately leading to increased maintenance costs. In comparison Squarespace is a closed-source platform – technically far more secure and from a plugin perspective, quality over quantity are prioritised.

3. Support

Fed-up with bot chats? Just want a quick answer? Squarespace offers fast, expert, live chat support (no bots or sales reps), unlike WordPress, which lacks comparable help and can leave you stranded. We’ve never contacted Squarespace and not had an issue resolved!

4. Only growth in sight

There’s lots of rumours Squarespace is being discontinued. But, it is just that – a rumour. Squarespace’s new partnership with Google Domains strengthens their position in web hosting, highlighting their platform’s scale, reliability and growing market presence.

5. Ease of Use

Due to Squarespace’s clean interface and intuitive nature, our clients find it easy to understand and use, which ensures they have full ownership of their site and the confident ability to make their own tweaks – no gatekeeping here.

“Launch gang -  just wanted to say the template for the SEO pages is superb! Thank you! I’ve now created 11 pages and they all look fabulous, each a little different to the other, content slotting in perfectly, nice and easy to use whilst being customisable…. - nailed it, as usual”
Emma James, Kamwell COO

Of course your choice of platform does depend on the level of functionality you require but for most clients, Squarespace is more than sufficient to meet their needs.

So if you’re looking for lower costs, lower stress, intuitive design, secure sites, ease of functionality (we could go on!) Squarespace far outranks WordPress on all levels!
